Confirmation is the point in the Christian journey where you affirm for yourself the faith into which you have been baptized and your intention to live a life of committed discipleship. This affirmation is confirmed in a service through prayer and the laying on of hands by the officiating bishop. The Church also asks God to give you power through the Holy Spirit to enable you to live in the way of Jesus.

Confirmation allows you to take Holy Communion within the church at weekly services.

At St Peter’s, confirmation is usually held as part of a wider Deanery service for its various churches.  We have also adopted a policy of permitting children to take Holy Communion prior to confirmation. This is part of a structured approach to deepening their understanding of the Christian faith and assisting them in their journey before making a final commitment .
