Next to, and built at the same time as our church, is St Peter’s Academy. This is a Church of England aided school which puts ‘the child first and always’.

Graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in its last inspection in 2013, and graded ‘Outstanding’ by the National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools in 2015, the Academy recognises its historic foundation. Its ethos is to preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England, in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.

It serves the community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.
